Birmingham Heritage Week 2026- Birmingham History Society has an exciting programme of events. This includes the following: -
- A walking tour exploring 'lost' churches in central Birmingham
- Heritage pub trail in Central Birmingham which celebrates the work of the architectural firm James and Lister Lea(1846-2001)
- Harborne heritage walk
- X-rays, Foxgloves and Cotton Wool: Medical History Tour of Birmingham
Projects
Dr John Hall-Edwards- The Birmingham History Society is working with Birmingham's Children's Hospital and other partners to erect a memorial and educational display to this pioneering doctor
Birmingham Medical Institute- The Birmingham History Society is working in partnership with this historical organisation to enhance their activities
James and Lister Lea- This was an architectural firm set-up by two brothers from Birmingham in the 19th Century. They designed many iconic buildings in Birmingham including pubs(such as The Woodman) and a hospital. The Birmingham History Society is promoting the firm's work with an event during Birmingham Heritage Week 2026
